Hey, what a great story. I can’t how count many times during our expat postings that we came across smart, ambitious folks who had risked it all to move to a foreign land to help make a better life for themselves and their families back home. Sometimes they supported an entire village! We exist so far removed from this kind of dutiful experience. Matilda’s story is both a tribute to immigrants and to the resourcefulness of women. Perhaps they would do a better job running things, huh.

What an interesting story! I had no idea this is how hair salons got their start. Harper was definitely a pioneer in the women’s business movement. Hopefully, women decided to cut off some of that awful length shortly thereafter!

Agree. I've worn my hair every length from pixie to waistline and everything in between. I'm currently in a long phase, but not that long!
